Ibi Matsuri (festival)

This year, the festival will be held on a reduced scale this year, from the perspective of preventing the spread of coronavirus infections.

The first performance of Kabuki, will be performed at 13:30 on May 4th in front of the Torii gate, after that, the play will be performed at Takasago Square near the shrine.

The usual portable shrine parade is not held, but the portable shrines will be put on a truck and go around the town.

12:30 Yama (floats) coming to the shrine
13:30 Kabuki performance dedicated to the deity (in front of the shrine gate)
14:30 Mochi-maki (scattering rice cakes by Kabuki actors and actresses)
16:00 Kabuki performance (Takasago Square)
17:00 Yama (floats) returning to the storehouse

May 5th
12:30 Parade of Kabuki actors and actresses
12:40 Miko-mai (shrine maidens’ dance)
13:00 Ceremony for departure of portable shrines
14:00 Kabuki performance (Takasago Square)
16:00 Kabuki performance (Takasago Square)
17:00 Yama (floats) returning to the storehouse
18:00 Ceremony for returning of portable shrines
